Description:

This full-time position is responsible to troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, inspect and test a variety of production systems and equipment

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Produces parts to customer specifications:
    • Loading coils
    • Setting machine to specifications
    • Operating machine
  • Understands how to:
    • Troubleshoot equipment
    • Read piece part drawings
    • Measure parts using the proper inspection equipment
    • Assisting on machine changeovers
    • Inspect raw materials
    • Enter data to inspection, adjustment, production and inventory sheets
    • Make adjustments to tooling to keep parts within specifications
    • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and palletizing of parts
  • Utilizes lift truck or overhead crane to load and remove coils:
    • Clean coils
    • Inspects coils for defects
  • Maintains continuous operation of machines by performing maintenance on machines as required:
    • Oils and lubricates machines as necessary
  • Maintains specifications by:
    • Observing operation
    • Detecting malfunctions
    • Inspecting parts for defects/flaws
    • Measures size of holes, thickness, and flatness of material by:
      • Using micrometer
      • Flatness indicator
      • Microscope
      • Hole size gauges
    • Adjust machines as necessary to keep parts within specifications
  • Ensures safety of self and fellow employees by:
    • Following safety procedures when handling chemicals
    • Utilizes protective clothing, glasses, ear protection, and respirators as required
    • Observes the lock out/tag out procedure when making adjustments and repairs to machines
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment by emptying scrap bin when it is full:
    • Emptying machine waste oil
    • Cleaning oil and scraps from floor and work area

Skills & Requirements:

  • Supervision of Packers:
    • Train new Packers with the assistance of Inno-Spin Trainer
    • Assist in the training of new operators as needed
    • Arrange Packers’ breaks
    • Monitor Packers’ performance, workplace cleanliness and inventory of supplies
    • Pack parts when necessary to assist Packer
  • Follows company policies and applicable safety procedures:
  • Willingly takes on new tasks:
    • Flexible to changes in priorities and scheduling
    • Seeks out work or requests work from supervisor when work is slow
    • Willing to help other employees
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality
  • Packs parts when necessary, or when work is slow
  • Trains new operators and packers when necessary
  • Assists toolmakers as required
  • Performs other functions as assigned by the department managers/supervisors

Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications, Etc.:

  • Minimum two years high school
  • Good math skills, mechanical ability, basic reading and writing.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English
  • Metal stamping or other production related background
