Description:

This position is responsible for fitting and assembling components according to blueprints, manuals, and engineering requirements. Responsible for machine construction, machine rebuilding, and machine repair.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Read, understand and follow engineering prints, and documents to accomplish the assembly, maintenance or repair of parts and machines
  • Have the knowledge and skills to assemble units and complete tools to design specifications
  • Build and install mechanical components such as hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, and electrical components
  • Test and troubleshoot machinery to ensure proper functionality
  • Perform all other duties, as assigned

Skills & Requirements:

  • Positive attitude and a team player
  • 3-5 years recent experience in mechanical assembly or machine building
  • Experience with machine building and assembly, machine tooling set up and troubleshooting
  • Machining of parts using mills, drill press, lathes and surface grinders, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics and engineering drawings
  • Must have own tools
  • Knowledge of tool building
  • Knowledge of reading blue prints

Physical Requirements:

  • Be able to perform work in assembly plants
  • Frequent standing, lifting, and walking

Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications, Etc.:

  • GED or High School Diploma Required
  • Completion of apprenticeship program or trade school with a tool making apprenticeship preferable
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
